This course is designed and planned to focus on ethical issues and dilemmas that nurses may experience as they carry out their roles and responsibilities as health professionals. Hypothetical problems dealing with ethical issues in intrapersonal and interpersonal relationships, life and death issues, and individual rights and choices will provide a framework for the development of a sound theoretical base and a philosophical approach for critical analysis of such ethical problems and the development of strategies for addressing them.
